My Letter to Firefly Online
A couple weeks ago, Firefly Online stated that they're looking for beta testers. The way to apply was to write a letter (email) with a few requirements, send it in, and hope for the best. I did just that and since, have not heard anything about the recruiting. Considering the fan base, I'm sure they've got a lot to sift through. I haven't posted anything for a couple weeks here. I've had teeth pulled and have been gaming for some new videos. While I've been recording video for the next series, I've been waiting for some logo art to come back to make sure the upcoming gameplay video series remains constant in its style. However, I figured my letter to Firefly Online was worth sharing:
To whom it may concern,
I am a gamer, web designer and a huge fan of Firefly (and its accompanying full-length film, Serenity). Straight to business before the fun begins:
--Windows 7 PC - AMD Athlon II x2 220 (Dual-core 2.8GHz) with 8GB RAM and AMD Radeon HD 6670 GPU
--Ubuntu 14.04 (Linux) Dual-core 2.2GHz laptop with 4GB RAM and AMD Mobility Radeon HD 3870 X2
--Motorola Droid Maxx (Android 4.2.2-4.4.4)
--Motorola Droid 1, 3 and 4 (Android ver 2.x - 4.0)
--Anything you want tested through Virtual Machines such as Windows XP, 2000, Vista, any Linux distro.
Yeah, I'll keep flying on any device. I need a ship though, one that'll be with me 'til the day I die.
That's where you come in! Please?
Ok so a bit more about me. I'm a very eclectic person in everything from games to music and I'm energetic. I have some experience in game design and development. I'm also fairly open-minded and compassionate/understanding (i.e. I'll be the last to scream about killing an entire franchise because of a little bug or gimmick that isn't precisely on par with their vision). I record, broadcast and blog some of my gaming experiences (more info at http://dracosys.net). I understand that, if given the opportunity to fly early, I may be limited on what I'm allowed to speak of or show. It is, in my humble opinion, decent proof to show that I'll go above and beyond just playing your game silently and not doing my part as a tester to help create a better experience for Firefly Online upon official release.
I have a wife and son. My kiddo is 8 (9 in December) and he's into several games with me as well. My wife LOVES Firefly as much as I do... instead of looking into the game, however, she watches episodes repeatedly and we have discussions about Firefly/Serenity at times. She is an extremely casual gamer. If given this opportunity, I'd happily report an outside to inside perspective of her experiences and opinions as well. Please consider 1-3 accounts (for me, my son and my wife). I do know slots are limited and won't be bothered with only 1 for myself.
Thank you for your time!
Maybe it's too needy? Mushy with the family stuff? Don't much care for anyone's opinion on that, I want this game ASAP. Simple as that.
